A few weeks ago, with the crazy rainstorms, our entire area was dealing with flooding and other water-related damages. Now, this weekend, it's a different type of water problem. A main water pipe a few towns over has broken (a 10 foot wide, 7 year old pipe). As a result, our town, along with Boston and many towns north and south, is on a boil water order until further notice. The stores were CRAZY yesterday with people hogging all the water. We simply bought 3 gall0ns and have barely made a dent in the first. Cooking isn't so bad. Cleaning dishes is a bit annoying because we have to soak in diluted bleach after cleaning in the water. I think the trickiest part is that they are recommending not bathing young children in the water, since they may ingest it. I can give Layla a sponge bath without much difficulty, but a shampoo will be another challenge. I just wish I knew when the order would be lifted. If I can get away without washing her hair for a day or two, I will....but if we're talking a week or more then we'll have to go to plan B. Added to the complications is that Chris is traveling Monday - Wednesday this week.
We've had a full weekend. We learned about the water crisis while on the way back from Sturbridge to welcome Layla's newest friend, Liam MacDonald. Liam is 4 weeks old and is an adorable peanut! Layla learned how to say the word 'baby' just in time for the party.
Today was a beautiful flower service at church. Now we're resting up for some friends to stop by for an afternoon bbq. Gonna be a hot afternoon, so we're trying to relax and stay cool...and drink clean water when we can :).

Great pic--I love the barrette, and her hair definitely looks as if it can go another few days without a shampoo. What a big girl!
