Block Party

Yesterday was the annual neighborhood block party. There were tons of kids and lots of dogs...Layla was in heaven.

Here she is straining to get a better view of the big kids' potato sack race!


Here she is with Grandma. Grandma lives in the house next to us, and despite Layla's resistance, she always tries to get some Layla love. Grandma doesn't speak any English, but yesterday she and Layla finally communicated and Layla stayed calm for a few moments while Grandma bounced her. Grandma and Grandpa will be going back to China in a few months...we will miss their smiles, their hospitality, and their spring rolls!


Layla loved the watermelon. Actually she had fun eating a lot of the picnic fare, especially the roasted potatoes.
