Layla's first time north of Portland. She was such a great car rider!

Layla's first time at Mimi and Bumpa's camp in Sinclair, ME. Did you even know there was anything north of Caribou?!

First time at the Acadian Festival, in Madawaska.
First moose, too!
Here she is swinging at the park during the festival, before the rain hit.

First missed campfire, complete with s'mores. Our friends Joe and Natalie came up for the weekend with their kids, Mia and Owen. We had a blast, but Layla slept through the boat ride and the marshmallows.

After a week in the County, we headed south to Grampa's cabin in Stockton Springs.
Here, Layla plays with Bella for the first time. Layla LOVED all the kisses that Bella gave her.
Grampa was kind enough to let us drill a hole in one of the beams on his porch so that we could rig up Layla's bouncer. First time bouncing outside. Score!

Layla enjoys more kisses from Bella and Grandpa.

Here's Layla enjoying her first walk along the river in Bucksport, with the beautiful new Penobscot Narrows Bridge in the background.
We also enjoyed a visit from Aunt Jen and cousins Katie and Jake....the first time they'd seen Layla since she was one week old! We celebrated the 4th with them a day early, since they were occupied on Saturday cheering on Dana at the Jonesport-Beals lobster boat races.

During our time at the cabin, we were able to visit Chris's maternal grandfather, who is living at the Maine Veterans' Home after a nasty fall and head injury last fall. He is a bit confused some of the time, but we were able to have two nice visits and we're happy to have some pictures of Layla with her great grandfather.

Fantastic to see that you were able to stop in and see Grampa. He must have been thrilled to have you stop in! Wonderful to be able to get a picture of him with Layla!
